The Ooni of Ife, Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II, was
buried on Friday, beginning a seven-day curfew as the burial rites
continue. The town's chiefs announced that the restriction of movement
would begin at 4 PM.
The Punch reports the announcement of the restriction of movement
caused confusion among those trying to attend the interdenominational
funeral services. Additionally, local residents reportedly were unaware
that the local market would be closed for the duration of the curfew.
