1. The Chef:
Umami Underground Cuisine’s “Oga at the top”
is none other than Chef Renee Chuks. She was one of the judges on Knorr Taste
Quest, she comes from a family of amazing cooks, she was trained at the
prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, and she
is the first Nigerian female chef
that has been certified and trained.

The name, “Umami”:
You know how the tongue can taste sweet, salt, bitter
and sour? Well, “Umami” is the fifth
sense of taste that makes your mouth water when you've just eaten something
savoury, pleasant and delicious. So you just know that the food atUmami Underground Cuisineissavoury, pleasant

Valentine’s day 2015:
You know how you were running helter skelter trying to
find out what to do on Val’s Day this year? Well, Umami Underground Cuisine did not carry last on the matter. Chef
Renee Chuks hosted fifteen couples to an exclusive dinner with food, music and
wine. The menu was full of all kinds of mouthwatering orisirisi. You’ll see it
for yourself in the pictures.

The dining experience at Umami Underground Cuisinepop-up restaurant is not about great food
alone: they have partnered with Angel Champagne (the official champagne for
Chef Renee), and Palatially Wine and Spirits, makers of Baron Honoré wines (the
official wines for Umami) to bring excitement to your taste buds whether you’re
eating or drinking, chewing or sipping.
