Many people died today after a bomb went off at the Central market in Bauchi state, few hours after a bomb explosion ripped a motor park in Gombe state killing at least 20 people. The bomb happened around 5.30pm. Number of casualties is unknown at this time

Defence HQ reacts to reports of new abductions in Borno, says search is ongoing

The Defence Headquarters has released a statement saying they are investigating reports of 185 women and children abducted by Boko Haram men in Gumsuri village in Borno state on Sunday Dec 14th. Find the statement below...

"Troops are patrolling the general area of Gumsuri in search of terrorists who were said to have attacked the community last weekend. Although it has been confirmed that some people were killed by the terrorists during the attack, efforts are ongoing to verify the reported abductions from credible sources in the community in view of claims by unidentified sources being quoted in some foreign media.

Some of the villagers who fled during the attack have started returning to the village. Normal life has also returned to the area. The surveillance and patrol of the area by air and land forces has been stepped up to secure the general area. Troops have been ordered to sustain an aggressive patrol over the area and the surrounding communities in order to ensure that terrorists do not have any freedom of action in the area while the counter-terrorism campaign continues.

An insider told Heat magazine that Kanye dropped $62,000 on a diamond-encrusted tiara as well as $12,000 on a toy replica of his matte black SUV.

The source also revealed that Kanye thinks the tiara will be a great gift for Nori, saying, 'so when she plays dress-up she'll be a real princess'

Kanye has also been planning to surprise wife Kim, 34, with some extravagant purchases, with a source claiming, 'For Kim, he’s got specially commissioned designer clothes, shoes, bags, and jewels, too. Well, actually he asked his stylist to do it.'

The Kano state Police command has uncovered a bomb hidden in a sack at Dawnau, the Kano food market. This development comes barely 24 hours after two female suicide bombers blew themselves up at the Filin Parking in Kantin Kwari Market, killing 6 people.

The state's Police commissioner, Adelenre Shinaba confirmed the incident and said the police has successfully detonated the bomb.
